SaveSphere Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the SaveSphere — Social Save Organizer Chrome extension handles information.
Effective date: July 25, 2026
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Saved posts, links, screenshots, notes, tags, collections and browsing-derived metadata remain in extension storage inside the user's Chrome profile. SaveSphere does not use advertising or analytics and does not upload the user's saved library to a developer-operated server. A third-party licensing service is contacted only when the user chooses to buy, activate or validate SaveSphere Pro.
1. About SaveSphere
SaveSphere lets users explicitly save a webpage, social media post, video, product, recipe, article or other link into a private visual library. Users can add a reason, collection, tags, a note, a favorite status and, for Pro users, an optional reminder.
SaveSphere does not continuously monitor browsing, automatically read every page visited, import social-media account history without a user request, or post content to social media.
2. Information processed when the user saves something
After the user clicks the SaveSphere toolbar button or chooses a SaveSphere context-menu command, the extension may process:
- The current page URL and canonical URL
- Page title, description and language
- Website or platform name
- Public creator or author name when exposed by the page
- Public content type, such as video, post, article, product, recipe or link
- Public media metadata such as a video duration or image URL when exposed by the page
- Text the user has selected
- A compressed screenshot of the visible browser tab, only if the preview option is enabled
This information is processed only to build the save the user requested. Platform-specific extraction can be incomplete because websites change frequently.
3. Information supplied by the user
SaveSphere may store information the user chooses to enter, including:
- Notes
- Tags
- Collections
- The reason for saving an item
- Favorite and status choices
- An optional reminder date
- Imported SaveSphere backup files
- A Pro license key entered for activation
4. Information SaveSphere does not intentionally collect
SaveSphere is not designed to collect or store passwords, authentication credentials, complete browsing history, cookies, authentication tokens, payment-card details, private messages, email content, keyboard input, form entries or network request and response bodies.
A visible-tab screenshot may contain information that is visible on screen at the moment the user saves. The user can turn previews off before saving or disable them by default in settings.
5. Local storage
Saved items, preview images, notes, tags, collections, settings and reminder information are stored locally using browser extension storage and IndexedDB within the user's Chrome profile.
SaveSphere does not provide a developer-operated cloud account in version 1.0.1. Chrome profile removal, extension-data clearing or extension removal may delete local records. Users are encouraged to export backups.
6. How information is used
Local information is used only to:
- Create and display the user's saved library
- Detect repeated saves of the same canonical link
- Search, filter, organize and reopen saved sources
- Generate user-requested backups and exports
- Display optional reminder notifications
- Enforce disclosed free and Pro feature limits
Saved-content information is not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, lending, creditworthiness or unrelated purposes.
7. Browser permissions
- activeTab: grants temporary access to the page the user explicitly chooses to save.
- scripting: runs the packaged metadata extractor on the explicitly authorized page.
- storage: stores extension settings and license state locally.
- contextMenus: provides explicit “save page,” “save link” and “save selection” commands.
- alarms: checks locally for reminders the user created.
- notifications (optional): displays a reminder only after a Pro user grants permission.
- api.lemonsqueezy.com access (optional): is requested only when a user activates or validates a Pro license.
8. SaveSphere Pro payments and licensing
The planned Pro purchase is processed through a hosted Lemon Squeezy checkout. Lemon Squeezy acts as a payment and licensing provider and may process information such as the purchaser's email, name, billing details, tax information, payment status and license key under its own terms and privacy policy.
SaveSphere does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. When the user activates or validates Pro, SaveSphere sends the license key and browser-instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy's License API. The API may return product, variant, order and customer metadata. SaveSphere stores only the license key, license instance identifier, relevant product identifiers, activation time and cached paid status locally.
When network validation is temporarily unavailable, a previously validated license may continue to work for a limited offline grace period.
9. Buy Me a Coffee
SaveSphere contains an optional link to Buy Me a Coffee. No connection to Buy Me a Coffee is made merely because the extension or library is opened. The external service is contacted only when the user deliberately opens the link, and its own privacy practices then apply. A tip is separate from a Pro license unless an offer explicitly states otherwise.
10. Data sharing and external transmission
SaveSphere does not sell or rent user data. Saved-library content is not transmitted to advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers or the developer. The limited license information described above is transferred to Lemon Squeezy only when necessary to provide Pro purchase activation and verification.
The extension contains no remotely hosted executable code. All extension JavaScript is packaged with the extension.
11. Backup, export and import
Users can export SaveSphere information to files and import compatible backups. Export occurs only after an explicit user request. After export, the user controls where the file is stored or shared. Backup files containing preview images may include visible information from saved pages.
12. Reminders
Reminder dates remain local. Pro users may optionally grant Chrome notification permission. SaveSphere uses that permission only for reminders associated with saved items and not for advertising or promotional messages.
13. Retention and deletion
Local information remains until the user deletes specific items, clears all SaveSphere data, clears Chrome extension data, removes the Chrome profile or uninstalls the extension. A user can deactivate a Pro license instance from the Pro page; local deactivation attempts to inform Lemon Squeezy when network access is available.
14. Security
SaveSphere reduces external exposure by keeping the saved library local and limiting page access to explicit user interactions. No local system can guarantee absolute security. Anyone with access to an unlocked Chrome profile may be able to view the locally stored library.
15. Children's privacy
SaveSphere is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly create developer-operated profiles of children.
16. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information accessed through Chrome APIs is used only to provide or improve SaveSphere's disclosed, user-facing save-and-organize functionality. It is not used for personalized advertising or unrelated profiling.
17. Changes
This policy may be updated when SaveSphere's functionality, providers, data practices or legal obligations change. The dates at the top will be updated when material changes are published.
